Honra Livet launches — Sweden's first independent platform for life planning, reflection and conversation about death
Two out of three Swedes think about death at least once a month, but the conversation remains taboo. At the same time, the global market for life planning and end-of-life planning is growing rapidly and is expected to reach over $45 billion within five years.
The launch of Hedra Livet, Sweden's first digital platform that brings together reflection, planning and emotional support around the end of life, in one place.
A unique comprehensive solution
Unlike traditional actors who focus solely on funerals or law and other AI-powered services that deal primarily with grief and loss,Honra Livet offers a holistic solution through the different stages of life. The platform combines journalistic content, conversation support and existential reflection with practical tools to plan, share memories and make document management accessible.
On the platform, users can, among other things:
Reflect on the meaning of life and collect memories
Plan a personal farewell party or document wishes
Get support in times of grief and worry
Manage care choices and practical issues in case of illness
The digital life planning tool to be launched before the turn of the year lets users collect documents, memories and wishes in a safe place. With reminders, sharing functions and interaction opportunities with loved ones, transparency and security are created, from everyday reflection to the crucial stages of life.
We build the platform we ourselves lacked
Honoring Life was born out of a frustration: the conversation about death remains taboo, and the digital solutions that exist are fragmented, tight and often out of fashion. Founders Charlotta McAlpine and Maria Sandström combine solid experience in global tech and brand development with a network of experts in healthcare, existential issues and counseling. Together with a team of developers, they build a platform that meets both emotional and practical needs for real.
“We see a shift in which interest in life planning is increasing strongly, both in Sweden and globally. Our vision is to de-dramatize the conversation about death and at the same time give people tools that reduce stress, prevent conflict and create security, for both the individual and their relatives,” says Maria Sandström, CEO and co-founder.
Innovation support
Honra Livet has received innovation support from Almi, highlighting the service's unique position in the market.
“FIf innovation aid is to be granted, the solution must be unique on the market. We saw that Honoring Life offers something completely new by combining lifelong planning, reflection and emotional support on a safe and independent platform,” says Patrik Kägu, Innovation Advisor at Almi.
